Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 June 2026
This policy explains how Glimpse ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use Glimpse. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email, password (stored hashed), and your sender profile (the name/phone you put on outreach).
- Usage data — your scans, generated previews, outreach records, and how you use the app, so we can run and improve the service.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card details; we keep a customer/subscription reference only.
- Business information you look up — public details about local businesses (name, address, phone, website, ratings, reviews, photos) drawn from Google Maps / Places and OpenStreetMap.
- Technical data — basic logs and a session cookie needed to keep you signed in.
2. How we use it
- To provide Glimpse — accounts, scanning, previews, and the outreach queue.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To maintain, secure and improve the service.
- To contact you about your account or important service changes.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Service providers we share with
We use trusted providers to run Glimpse. They only handle data as needed to provide their service:
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Neon — database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google Maps Platform & OpenStreetMap — business data.
- Resend — email delivery (when you send outreach or we send account emails).
Some providers may store or process data overseas; we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it consistently with the APPs.
4. Business contact data
Glimpse surfaces publicly listed information about local businesses so you can build a preview and reach out. If you're a business and would like your information removed from a preview, contact us at hello@glimpseguide.com and we'll action it. Anyone who receives outreach can opt out with one click and will not be contacted again.
5. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you securely signed in. We don't use it for advertising. You can clear it any time in your browser, but you'll be signed out.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. When you delete your account we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain some records (e.g. for tax or to honour unsubscribe requests).
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information — passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify you and the OAIC if a notifiable data breach occurs.
8. Your rights
You can access or correct your personal information from your account settings, or by emailing us. You can ask us to delete your account and data. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first — if you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
9. Overseas & non-Australian users
Glimpse is operated from Australia. If you're elsewhere (for example the EU/UK), your information may be processed in Australia and other countries where our providers operate. By using Glimpse you consent to that processing.
10. Children
Glimpse isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
